Bite of an Apple, Part 1 [Oct. 6th, 2005|01:38 pm]
[mood |productive]
[music |"The Boys Are Back" - Everclear]

An apple carved into a pyramid will still contain its core. Then you break the triangle down by biting it. Yet, what happens when the big apple consumes you?

I'll try and keep this short. By short, I mean shorter than what I wrote for Dayton and Chicago. Which of course I have yet to finish that actually, since I never seemed to get posted what happened after the show ended, and how I became a vampire? Man, that lady was crazy.

Now before I get into my time in New York, let me take you back. Back to where it began. August 24, less than two weeks after Punk's last show. In a snide comment from me saying if anyone wanted to cover my expenses, I'd get the days off from work to go there. And who responded minutes later? Gregh. I replied saying I'd take the hotel suite, penthouse room, and throw a big catered party(not paid for by me of course). Lonewolf said he wanted me to wear the silver pants. Then for the heck of it I looked up airline pricing and such, posted it, Greg gave me a price that was one hell of a deal, too good to pass up. So I check with work, got the time off, and was in. 5 days in New York for X amount of dollars? Too good to pass up. So I get it, I'm in. Days and weeks pass by, everything gets figured out. Well, almost everything. But we'll get to that later.

Thursday, Sept 29, I get off work and get home around midnight. 30 minutes to an hour later, my brother and his fiance are off toward Minneapolis for my 6:30 flight. Since I didn't want to leave my car at the terminal for 5 days and have to pay like $80 when I get back just to pay for parking. Roll into Minneapolis by 4, stop at Super America gas stop on 98th St right off I-35W, so he can get gas, and so we can get cappuccinos, my treat. Sadly, no pumpkin spice cappuccino out yet, but they had cinnamon roll as one of their 10 flavors there. Head to the airport for my first flight ever, so I'm clueless. Check my bags, say aloha, and go through security. Anxiously await metal detectors to go off, because of my jaw, but they never do. Odd since I even had my necklace and change in pocket. Wait for my flight, and board. Wait so anxiously, I dislike amusement parks since I get easily sick on rides. Last time I went on a ride was a ferris wheel at a county fair on 9/11 - yeah, that one. So it's been 4 years since my last amusement ride, so I was thinking of take off like that, and the flight. Amazingly though, it wasn't like that, aside from the quick rising into the air. Fly to North Carolina for my layover in Charlotte. This so F'ing RULED!! I've always wanted to go to NC, since I love the Tar Heels, so when Greg told me that's where the layover was, it made the entire trip 2x better right then and there. Flight landed 20 min late, so I had 15 minutes to find my connection and get there. No chance to do anything really, so sad.

I seem to be getting more detailed into things than I originally expected. Meh, oh well. Deal. I mean, you're not doing anything anyways, so just keep reading. Actually, wait; order a pizza, then continue.

Okay, I got an hour of sleep on the flight, hit the connection, then went to La Guardia. Slept most of that entire flight, waking up just minutes before we would land. Come to notice little buildings, realizing I was seeing the statue of liberty. It all seemed so small in the air. I was in New York, I don't believe it, I really don't. Get my bags, and wait for Greg's flight to arrive. Meet up with him at baggage claim, find out he had quite the travel companion sitting beside him. Take my first taxi ride to his apartment, where I'd generally be staying for a prime amount of time there. Change and take another taxi to dinner at Wolfgang's, meeting up with Cary, Syd, franchisepain, Greg's family and associate. I still can't believe all that cost so much. Most expensive dinner I've ever had or seen. But that cheesecake dessert, unbelievable. Best I've ever had. Wish I could have more of that right now. Such a small amount, tastes so great and was so filling. Talk to franchisepain for a bit, which was cool cause I've seen him at a few ROH and WWE shows, never really talked to him in person before, I think. Talked to Cary for a little, never really said anything I really wanted to talk about, still in shock of New York and all and being where I was compared to where I had been just 18 hours prior.

Go to the Paul McCartney concert, using one of the tix Cary had extra, so I had a floor seat, while Greg had skybox seats. I've never listed to a Beatles record or Wings cd or anything prior, on purpose. I agreed with Cary that I've probably heard stuff by accident, be it radio or on a TV/movie soundtrack somewhere, and though I only recognized 3 songs out of the entire concert, it was amazing. So many people had such a great time, it was awesome. Went like 3 hours I think, awesome show. I can't thank Cary enough for the tix. Too bad for me I wasn't more familiar with McCartney's work. Had it been Aerosmith, I would've been way more into it. I loved the intro video for the entire show of his life. The last hour of the show were major songs with fire and pyro and explosions which seemed to end the show, but they'd keep coming back, playing a couple of slower songs, and build up to another big song, and repeat every 15 minutes. Only concert I've ever been to, but to know it was that good, and at Madison Square Garden, that's a real treat. Rode my first and only subway, meeting some guy there on the bench who suggested I offer the pretty girl a cookie. He's seen plenty of men meet their wives on the subway. Interesting character that guy was, whoever he was, pretty cool.

Saturday, October 1
Greg originally suggested getting up early and walking through Central Park, but then changed his mind, allowing me to sleep in. I wake up around noon after Steve Franchise had arrived. Get up and go to the Rihga Royal hotel. Amazing place. Go to leave when JSWO and John Z show up. We wait as they go up to dump their stuff in the hotel room, 38th floor, great view. Then we had to the Dallas BBQ for the fan gathering. Met a ton of people I've never seen before. Had some fun times outside, such as Spanky getting a picture with a girl on the other side of the glass window. Did several pics with Ceej for group photos, pretty cool. Walk from there to the New Yorker where this dude comes up to me, asking about my pants, how much they cost, where I got them from, etc etc. Then he tries to hustle me with some G3 laptop, saying he knows nothing about computers, asking me if I did. Yada yada, the laptop fell into his lucky "quick" hands and was trying to pawn off this comp to me for a low one-time only price of $250. Funny thing is, I knew I was getting hustled the entire time. Snitsky Killed My Baby seen what was happening, since I had fallen behind everyone else who was walking from Larry Dallas' BBQ(that's right, it's his sticks{new slang/trend word I'm making up now, go ahead and figure out its meaning, use the word in everyday terms now, people will think you're cool}), so he came back with Dallas to help me out, we got the guy to go away, since he offered to sell it to me for whatever I had in my wallet since I didn't have that money. When I told him I had four bucks, he turned and walked off. Thanks guys.

Believe it or not, this IS the short story version. But I'll try and cut things down even more now.

Got to the New Yorker, hung outside with Jack Evans for like 10 minutes, really cool. He's always been cool to me, and is totally down to earth. Have a great time with your girl on your trip, you know this..man. Was it just me or was it odd seeing a McDonalds and a porn shop next to one another? Funny site. Go inside, hang out in the bar for awhile, met with Malkanzie and Biscuit again, always great to see those two. Greg, Biscuit, and Manda were the only ones I hung out with in Chicago and Dayton that were there in New York, so this was some more of a comfortable feeling. Though Biscuit was on her double date so I couldn't talk to her too much, since she was sorta playing hostess for the 3 with her, plus Manda and her friend. You two seemed to make the people you were with feel more at ease, so you did great. Talked to GLF since finding out about the bustrip being cancelled and he was going to be mine and Lonewolf's ride to Philly. Then went up for the show.

I'm not going to review any matches, there's plenty already. The Kobashi/Joe match though, that was unlike anything else. Amazing crowd, amazing atmosphere, Kobashi and Joe were on their A+ game. That's right, no A-game, but a whole A+. Made me so glad I went. JSWO and I talked a bit to Azriel at intermission. Said hello and introduced ourselves to Gabe(JSWO and I did, Azriel didn't have to).

Next there was the infamous after-show party in the hotel bar. I walk in, Jimmy Jacobs is there to greet me with a "Hey Dorito!" and WHAM! Just chopped me right there, totally unexpectedly. It stung for a minute, quite a bit, since it was pretty loud, and Jimmy turns around and chops BJ. Right from the get-go I know this is going to be fun. Talked to Azriel some more, talked with Matt Sydal for a little while, checking with him about his neck. If you saw the match, you'll know why I asked from that one bump. Talked about Daizee, talking to her in Chicago, she's really cool, and I love her on the outside of the ring because she is just so good in a managerial role. If you look, you can see bits of Cornette in her. She is so good now, all of the valets and divas in WWE should watch her and Allison Danger. I've made it a point to myself to watch the two of them when they're on the outside of the ring. Not the whole match, but when there's some slow spot, and they're pounding the mat, I join in and bang the guardrail signs. I hope Daizee gets booked for the New York return for that big cage match. Her stuff against Nana on outside of the ring is way better than Jade on the outside. Talked to Christopher Daniels for a little bit, got a pic with him. And he was nice enough to take a picture of Biscuit, Jimmy Jacobs, Matt Sydal, and I. Which seems to be the best picture I have, I think. He's got the BME, and now the BPE - Best Picture Ever. What else can he do that's the best ever? Met Biscuit's boyfriend, he's a cool, nice guy. Got his laughs in with Jimmy that didn't seem mean or anything. Saw Rick Noon come out right in front of me. After everything Joe went through, he sat down and was a great guy and talked to us, such a cool guy. Mary-Kate said hello, asked me how I thought of New York. Everyone in ROH is cool. I took the picture of Team Gibson for Lacey, I think that was her camera anyways. Speaking of Lacey, she took over the shocking moment of the night, which previously was Mamaluke pinning Jacobs to win the tag titles, when Azriel took her hat and she called him by his real name. Complete crowd gasp. I got a picture with Lacey, JB1183 got a pic with her, then GLF wanted one, then things got humorous as Daniels came over. She hid behind him as Daniels cut the Green Arrow fan promo on GLF. I can't even help but laugh as I think about this, with her hiding behind Christopher, laughing. Since just before the Daniels promo, she started with her "disgusting man" promo on GLF. Talked to Tony Mamaluke for a bit, since I was at the ECW debut in Minneapolis, where he wrestled Mikey Whipwreck and did a flip to the outside and landed neck-first on the guardrail. Said it sounded like him. What a scary site that was. Him and Sal as a team is great. Met up with Colt and Nigel in the hotel lobby. Nigel and Jack Evans are my dad's two favorite wrestlers. I'm glad to hear from Colt that Punk appreciated the Punk Farewell Tour shirt I made for him, thanks to waylo88 for his idea on that, and to Mary-Kate for getting me their shirt sizes. Does Jacobs do a great Terry Funk impersonation or what? Homicide was cool in person.

Remember, this is the short version of my story.

Talked to Roderick for quite awhile, he's so cool and was just so open with us. If he can improve this much over this past year in this next year, he'll be a definite main eventer by this time next year, guaranteed. Came time to say goodbyes as all were going to leave, I hope I didn't forget anyone. Deranged running from SpecialKgurl was something to see. I wish I had brought my video camera with just to record this whole thing, such an awesome time that hopefully all that were there remember. Went back to the hotel, where we come arrive to find Paul McCartney going into the hotel in front of us. Well, I didn't see him, but everyone else did. Stayed up til like 6am talking wrestling and stuff with JSWO. Franchise went to bed, and Lonewolf went into the closet to sleep on the floor. It was the first time I ever heard of anyone sleep in a closet before, but hey, it was big enough. I still say you should've slept on the ironing board. When you awoke and came out, Wolfy, anyone make any cracks about you coming out of the closet? Well, aside from me anyways? Hehe..

Greg took us to breakfast the next morning, then go back to the apartment. On the way, we see Al Pacino filming a scene in some movie, which was cool to see just suddenly happen. Drop stuff off at the apartment, say goodbyes, then Wolf and I head out to Penn Station for our train to Jersey to meet up with GLF. And here is where I will stop with this for the time. Remember, this is the SHORT version of what I'm writing. Part 2 should be up later. Your pizza should have arrived by now, if not, call the company and say the guy is an hour late.

Can't Believe This... [Sep. 5th, 2005|01:05 am]
[mood | infuriated]
[music |"The Wretched" - Nine Inch Nails]

I get home from work tonight to find out that my dad is in the hospital. Randy's eating while my mom tells me they just got back from hospital again today. I guess they went earlier cause my dad was complaining of really bad pain in his throat/neck area when he tried to eat. So he went in for exam and first thing wrong was his blood pressure, which was like 300-something over whatever, way high. So they give him shots and wait ten minutes, but it has no effect. Another shot, another ten minutes, no effect. A third shot, another ten minutes, no effect. A fourth shot, another ten minutes, and it begins to take effect. Fifteen minute wait before continuing with the exam after pressure has been brought down. So the problem is a deep sinus infection, so they give him some medicine to keep pressure down and let him go. Gets home, tries to eat a hot dog, then I guess he practically passes out, turns pale white, just sorta convulsing.

So my mom screams down at Mike to come upstairs, and Mike just responds with why? She screams at him two more times to get the fuck upstairs, NOW! And so he comes upstairs to find out and she yells at him to help her take Dad to the car and the hospital. So what does Mike do? Goes back down to ask Chandell if it's okay he do that. WTF?!! She wanted to know if she had to come too, and Mom said yes, she wants her to. But Chandell doesn't want to, so Mike goes back upstairs to help take Dad down the stairs. Gets there to find Randy getting home and walking in, and Mike goes "Randy's here, do I have to go still?" WHAT THE FUCK??!!!!! Mom screams at him to help Dad out to the car, so the two of them bring Dad to the car while Chandell is telling Mom she doesn't want to go. Fine, whatever, basically a fuck you from her. My parents like never swear, so when they do, they really mean it. She says to load up Kolby, but Mike doesn't want to go with to hospital. If I was there, I would've been screaming and grabbed Mike and just kicked his ass instead of me being at work. So Chandell says they'll watch Kolby, so they stay behind while Mom and Randy take my dad to the hospital. Not ride in a separate car, but stay at the house. And do what? What in the fucking world do they have to do that's so goddamn fucking more important than going with to the hospital to show concern for his father?

So I can't believe this, I really can't. I just put up my 1000th post on the ROH forums and come into learning of this after getting back from work where I work with my ex-gf for the first time in over two weeks, who I was/am so deeply madly in love with. And with Hurricane Katrina destroying her plans/dreams of moving to New Orleans next month, she is so extremely bitter. But I still can't stop thinking about all of this. They got him to the hospital and docs do full exam on him, discover he's got pancreatitus or whatever with his pancreas being messed up. Not to mention the 4 shots of that stuff now really taking full effect, so he's still in hospital now and I can't go fucking see him cause it's 1 in the morning. Guess all I can do is go before work tomorrow. I doubt Mike and Chandell will even go. Screw them. And they're standing behind me right now, pleading for me to loan them $30 for gas when he makes 3-4 times as much as I do. I'm so glad they're moving out this week, good riddens. They've just been a huge burden on my parents, never giving any financial aid of any sort, and because of that, my mom had her car repo'd a week or two ago so she could just scrape by with enough money to make house payment which was overdue. I am so going to try and get a job in New York, so long as it's a lot more than I make now, so it covers my current bills, future bills(rent), and hope I have extra money to send to my parents.

I swear if I was some kind of drunk like so many people are, I'd be right now. But I'm not, I'm straight-edge, so I've gotta deal.

Day One [Feb. 15th, 2005|01:31 am]
[mood | energetic]
[music |Futurama theme]

Got membership at Cardio Plus gym, $100 for initial fee and first two weeks, then every month it's $30. Had to watch my nephew, Kolby, this afternoon who was just all pissy waiting for Grandpa to show up. Watched Raw, then went to workout. Spent about an hour there, a little lifting, then spent 25 min on bike. Traveled 6 miles, burning 200 calories. It's a sweet gym, looks great, and I worked up a sweat on the bike. Not to mention no one else in building at all during night, which is awesome. Anyways, today was Valentine's Day, which I spent alone of course, VD for past 2 years have been really great with my now ex-gf, April, but I guess this is how things are. I disgress, and the new Madness ep is up for WWFW, so it looks like it's time to check that out to se if I won.

One more day [Feb. 13th, 2005|02:49 am]
[mood | blah]
[music |"Bloodsucker 2000" by Paralysed Age]

It's another saturday night alone at home. I thought of doing some exercise tonight, and I probably still will, but I've been working on trying to develop this roleplay for fed for nearly 5 hours and haven't gotten anywhere. You would think with valentine's day being on monday, that I could at least cut on something, but when I'm supposed to work with 30 minute ironman match for finals of 12 man tournament, and Dorito is supposed to be well, getting back into the shape of things after wrestling off and on for a period of two years, mostly off. But this is supposed to be my training rp, which I hate to do. It's so dull.

Switched to drinking diet pop today. Diet Dr Thunder & Diet Caffeine Free Mountain Dew. Figured instead of going cold turkey on soda, I'd cut myself back at least. Just weighed myself, 147 lbs. It's not what I want, that's for sure, otherwise I wouldn't be stepping forward. I could probably use cutting 20-30 pounds of fat, get lean, then start packing on the muscle. Watching Wrestlemania 5 tape, Run DMC doing their performance, notice the crowd is basically dead for this? Meh.

Enter Scene [Feb. 12th, 2005|03:45 am]
[mood | hyper]
[music |"Sitches" by Orgy]

Well, this is gonna be an open-all about anything and everything. But mostly, beginning this monday I take the first step toward changing my life, probably for the better. Chronicling my tales of starting to workout and get into shape, while working my job to pay off bills before I move to Florida or California to get into wrestling school. Whether or not to make it as a worker will be seen in the future, but I've been doing e-feds, online fantasy wrestling for almost 8 years now, and have adapted a sense of match psychology to work into matches, and seemingly an entertaining way to build feuds over time and add in completely unexpected turns. My main reason for doing this is so I can document everything, while also just blabbering on about whatevah.
